The One Thing Stress Will Do To Your Hair That You Don't Want To Happen

Stress is your body's response to being overwhelmed or overworked.  When you are extremely stressed, your body feels like it is being threatened, and starts to attack itself.  This results in symptoms such as frequent headaches, high blood pressure, insomnia, and even hair loss.  High stress levels can cause excessive hair loss and some forms of baldness.  Let's be clear, just your average, daily stress will not cause your hair to start shedding excessively.  Some scientists even think that there is no actual link to stress and hair loss at all.

Effects of stress on the hair

The truth is that the average person sheds about 100 hairs per day.  This is due to the hair going from the resting phase back to the growing phase.  Sometimes when the body is experiencing very high stress levels, it causes more hairs to go into the resting phase than usual.  Once all of those hairs are shed, it appears as though the hair is thinning.  Normally, the hair begins to shed about 3 months after the stressful event.  If you notice a significant amount of your hair coming out, think back a few months to find out the reason that may be currently causing your hair to thin or fall out. The bad news is that, the more you continue to stress, the more hair loss you will see. All of the Silk Hydration by L. The good news is that often stress is temporary, and once the stressful situation is over, the hair will resume its normal growing/shedding process.

If you are experiencing high levels of stress, there are many methods to manage it.  Go on vacation, practice yoga, meditate, pray, or even simply soaking in your tub may help.  Your hair is is only one of many factors that are affected by stress.  Take care of your body and it will take care of you!
