How To Grow Your Real Hair While Wearing Wigs (Week 8)

How To Grow Your Real Hair While Wearing Wigs (Week 8)

Welcome to week 8 of the series! Last week, (week 7) I had to braid my own hair up before putting my wig unit on. This week I knew that I did not want to do that again so I had it braided by someone else. Anytime someone else braids it I know that the braids will be up for 2 weeks instead of just 1. Since I was very aware that I would not be taking my hair down next week, I wanted to do a deep conditioning treatment to help keep it moisturized. So this will make two weeks in a row that I have deep conditioned. I started by shampooing first with the Extreme Clean Shampoo. Next I shampooed again using the Extreme Moisture Shampoo to start adding the moisture back in. Next, I applied a generous amount of the Intense Moisture Treatment to my hair and let that sit with a plastic cap (I did not use heat although it is optional) before rinsed it out with cool water. Finally, I towel dried and sprayed my hair thoroughly with the Leave-In Conditioner before I started blow drying.

Hair is braided straight to the back so the wig can lay flat
After my hair was 100% dry, I went to have it braided. Then I came back home and oiled my scalp in between the braids. When oiling your scalp, you want the oil to actually get on your scalp and not on your hair. After that, the only thing left to do was put on my wig cap and place the wig unit on my head. This is the fun part! I believe the best part about wearing these protective styles is knowing that my hair is healthy and growing underneath the wig.
