How To Grow Your Hair While Wearing Weave & Wigs (week 2)

This is week two of the protective styling series and I must say that I am very much enjoying it already! Who knows, this series might even last longer than originally intended! For week two I did pretty much the same method of shampooing and conditioning that I did for week one (see here). Here are the steps again:

Step 1: Shampoo with Silk Hydration by L. Jones Extreme Clean Shampoo- This gets rid of all of the dirt, oil, and residue on the hair. It basically gives you a clean slate.

Step 2: Shampoo with Silk Hydration by L. Jones Extreme Moisture Shampoo- This is the first step in adding the moisture back in the hair.

Step 3: Condition with the Silk Hydration by L. Jones Replenishing Conditioner- Adds even more moisture to the hair and softens.

Step 4: Apply Leave-In Conditioner- This adds the final layer of moisture to the hair, detangles, softens, and makes the hair more manageable.

After that I blow dried the hair and braided it right back up to prepare it to put the wig back on.

Remember, if you wear wigs then the braids do not have to be very fancy. The only purpose they serve is so that your freshly washed, nourished, and moisturized hair will be flat and your wig will lay correctly. Once my hair was braided I then put the wig cap on and applied "Lauryn".

The hair from this wig came from www.ljoneshaircollection.com and includes two bundles of deep curly hair and the matching lace closure. Although the hair is deep curly I flat ironed it straight. Once it is wet again it will curl right back up. The best part of it all is that my hair is healthy underneath!
