How To Stretch Your Relaxer For Healthier Hair (week 4)

How to stretch your relaxer for healthier hair (week 4)

I swear this time is going by faster and faster! We already have the first month over and done. For some of you the first month was a piece of cake. For others, I know you are starting to twitch and shake like you are ready for your next taste of the creamy crack. It is ok, we will get through this together! For me, I have 20 more weeks to go, or five more months. By that time it will be Christmas again. It seems like a lot of time but the key is to just take it week by week. This will make the time not seem so bad, at least until your new growth starts getting disrespectful! By now you should not even have an inch of new growth yet. Remember, the goal is to get two inches of new growth before you get another relaxer. It takes the average person at least four months to get two inches of new growth which is why I encourage you to go at least four months in between your relaxers in order to drastically decrease any overlapping of previously relaxed hair. I go six months simply because my hair is still very manageable at four months and also because I feel the need to set the example. If I can make it six months, you can make it four. And I have a LOT of hair!

Healthy, long, & thick RELAXED hair!
This week I decided to do my hair straight because there is heavy rain in our forecast this week and it would only be a waste of time to do curls. Plus I really like my hair straight anyway so I had no problems with doing it straight. I did add a bit of bump to it as well. The next time I do it straight though, it will be just bone straight with no bump on the ends. The great thing about still pretty much being in the "honeymoon phase" of my relaxer is that it does not take me long at all to do my hair. An hour or less is the time put in which is really good, especially with someone like me who has a million other things to do. With two kids, a husband, and a job of my own, on top of running my businesses, I don't have a lot of time to spend on my hair but having it look a hot mess is absolutely out of the question.

Healthy hair is the best accessory, relaxer stretching is the way to get it!
The products I used this week included the Silk Hydration by L. Jones:

--Extreme Clean Shampoo
--Extreme Moisture Shampoo
--Replenishing Conditioner
--Leave-In Conditioner
--Silky Serum Oil

After using these products, I can really tell a difference in my hair. It is soft even before I put the flat iron on it! This is great because that means I won't have to add excessive product to my hair after styling.

Oh nothing, just enjoying this head full of healthy relaxed hair!
