How often should you trim your hair?

Many women hate the idea of trimming their hair but the fact remains that it is an absolute necessity. Trimming the hair is needed in order to stop the split ends from continuing to split up the hair shaft, resulting in damaged hair. Therefore, trimming on a consistent schedule is important in your healthy hair journey.


So, how often should you trim your hair? I recommend trimming your hair (professionally) every three months. If you don't have good hair practices, for example, if you do not wrap your hair nightly or roll it up, etc., you will need to trim sooner.


If you have great hair habits (wrap or roll nightly, use heat wisely, etc) then you definitely can go three months before your next trim. Once you get on a schedule, you will notice that only a minimum amount needs to be trimmed.
