3 Simple Parts of Healthy Hair Care That You Probably Don't Think About


If you ask any relaxed hair blogger, natural hair blogger, or professional hairstylist what is the secret to having healthy hair, many will tell you that the products you use is the answer. While I do feel like that is a correct answer, it is not the whole answer. As a relaxed hair blogger AND a professional hairstylist, I have learned that healthy hair is achieved by doing more than simply using great hair products (like these). In fact, I have seen first hand that healthy hair can basically broken down into three simple parts that you probably don't even think about. Today we'll be going over these things in general, then we'll work on breaking them down even further later. So, let's jump right in.


  1. Healthy hair practices- Healthy hair practices include a lot of things. It includes using great products for your hair, as well as your everyday hair care routine. It also includes how you maintain your hair after styling.
  2. Proper/healthy diet- It has been shown that there is a direct link between your diet and the health of your hair. Even if you are using the best hair products (like these), your hair will still not be it's healthiest if your body is not getting the proper nutrition that it needs. Foods like fresh fruits and vegetables supply your body and your hair with vitamins and nutrients that help the hair grow faster and become longer. Also drinking the proper amount of water daily will help keep your hair moisturized.
  3. Relaxing lifestyle- It is so important to keep your stress levels down as it pertains to not only the health of your hair, but your entire body in general. I have seen the effects of stress on many of my clients due which is always hair loss. I have seen entire patches of hair come out and severe breakage as a result of extreme stress. We can't always avoid stress, but it is important to learn how to manage it. It is also extremely beneficial to find hobbies that you enjoy that help you relieve stress in your life. It can be something as simple as taking a hot bubble bath, or it can be a full spa day with the works. Whatever it is, tap into that REGULARLY and you will be surprised at how your hair improves!

Doing all of these three things will ensure that you live your best hair life and you will see such major improvements in the health of your hair!
