How To Stretch Your Relaxer Past 6 Weeks (Series-Week 19)

Today marks the beginning of a new week! Week 19 to be exact! Wow, the time just seems to be ticking away on this stretch. Still a few more weeks to go but we are pushing right on through. I want to remind you that if you have enough new growth to safely relax (I recommend two inches) at this point, then you are in the clear to go right ahead and get your relaxer. I always go longer than that because I can still manage my hair at four months and I also like to set the example that if I can do six months with my hair being on the thick side, then you can surely do four. With that being said, if you decide to keep going then rest assured that I am here for you! Let's dive into what I did this week.

This week I began as I always do by shampooing with the Extreme Clean Shampoo (twice). Then I followed that up by conditioning with some Replenishing Conditioner before applying some Leave In. After that I blow dried the hair. I would also like to add that after I blow dry my hair it is sooooooooooo soft. This is what is a tremendous help in allowing me to stretch for six months. The Silk Hydration by L. Jones products help soften my hair to make it easier for me to handle the new growth.

I flat ironed again this week and wore it straight. It is so much easier for me to maintain when it is straight which is why I'll be styling it straight for the remainder of the series.
