Mid Week Motivation // Controlling Your Life With Your Words

This week I decided to do at least one post per week that was motivational. With so much negativity and terrible things happening in the world today, I am doing what I can to help motivate people and help keep some positivity in mind. Today I want to talk about how to actually control your life with your words. Many of us know that the Bible says that the power of life and death is in the tongue. But do we really take that statement seriously? If we have the power of life and death in our own mouth, why do we carelessly speak negativity over our lives? And I say we because I am guilty myself. Sometimes I say things without really thinking about what I am actually saying.  However since meditating on this I not only have changed the way I talk, but I am now able to pick up on how much other people do the exact same thing. For instance, if you are single, why say things like there are no good men/women out there, or that all men have kids, or that all men/women cheat, all the good ones are taken, etc? Those are "death" words. If you constantly speak words like that about your relationship status, then you will have what you say! Instead speak "life" words like there are some good women/men out there and there is one just right for me. Say things like all women/men don't cheat and they are not all taken because mine is coming. If you continuously say positive words, you will see them actually happen in your life.

In the area of finances, I used to say things like I only work to pay bills, by the time I get my check on Friday I pay all of the bills and its gone by Monday. Then I would say things like I don't have any money, I'm broke, etc. And guess what? I had what I said! Everything I said was what was going on and I did not even see the correlation. Once I realized what I was doing, I immediately changed the way I was speaking. Now I say the exact opposite of what I used to say. I say things like I have plenty of money, I have more than enough, My God supplies all of my needs, I'm the head and not the tail, the lender and not the borrower. I say that consistently because these are life words. I will never again speak death to any area of my life and I want you to start doing the same.
