|How to stretch your relaxer to get healthier relaxed hair|
It is week 11 and I am almost at my half way point! I am so excited because once I reach the half way point, the countdown is on. This week I will do my hair straight just because I want to show you that even at this point in my stretch my hair can still look like I had a relaxer fairly recently. That is the whole point of this series. I want to show you that not only can you have healthy relaxed hair, but also that it is not the end of the world when you see the first sign of new growth. One little wave does not mean it is time to relax again. My goal is to get you in the mind frame of stretching relaxers out to the point where they do not overlap once you get your touch up. Hopefully you will get in the habit of keeping the health of your hair in mind while having relaxed hair. This will help your hair get stronger, grow longer, and be healthier!
|11 weeks post relaxer and hair still looks straight!|
This week I used all Silk Hydration by L. Jones products again. I use these products to soften the new growth to a point where it allows to straighten my hair with ease. I used the following:
- Extreme Clean Shampoo
- Extreme Moisture Shampoo
- Replenishing Conditioner
- Leave-In Conditioner
- Miracle Potion no.9
After shampooing my hair, I went ahead and blow dried it because I had somewhere I had to go rather quickly. I usually let it air dry a while so that it does not seem to take very long.

For maintenance I simply wrapped my hair for the entire week and slept quite comfortably. Two days before I was supposed to shampoo my hair I accidentally fell asleep on my hair without wrapping it first (I must have been exhausted because that NEVER happens to me) so I had to wear a bun for the next two days. Fortunately it was almost shampoo day so I didn't sweat it too much.
