I was recently contacted by Creme of Nature to do a review for their newest relaxer, Straight From Eden. This relaxer is 100% plant derived and is said to be less damaging than other relaxers because it is free of a lot of harsh chemicals. It does not contain lye, mineral oil, petrolatum, propylene glycol, sulfates, parabens, nor formaldehyde. What it does contain is olive oil, coconut oil, and avocado oil. I must admit, I was very pleasantly surprised with the results of the relaxer. It did not have an odor like most relaxers do. In fact, it did not smell like a relaxer at all. After using the relaxer on my client, her hair turned out very straight, soft, and silky. If one of my clients were to bring me this relaxer and tell me to use it on them I would be happy to because it really made the hair feel excellent. Take a look at the video for this review for more details.
**Disclaimer** Being a professional hairstylist, I have seen first hand the damage that can occur when people try to do their own relaxers at home or from having a non-professional person apply them. With that being said, I do not recommend anyone who is not a professional to do their own relaxer. I know most people who buy Creme of Nature purchase with the intentions of doing their own relaxers but I will encourage you not to do this. Instead purchase and take to your trusted hairstylist and tell them that you prefer to use that. Do not attempt to do this yourself, you will not get the same results that a professional can give! My main goal and purpose of this blog is to help women get healthy hair so it would be very wrong of me to tell you to do this at home!
Can the new Crème of Nature Relaxer be used to texturize?
