Yet Another Silk Press

These days I have been doing more and more silk presses.  And I am not complaining, after all, practice makes perfect right??  I think I have the getting it straight part down, now I am working on my speed.  I know how my clients like to get in and out and do not want to be stuck in a salon all day so I am doing my best to have them in and out in the best time possible.  I give all glory to God for my skills, because I am fully aware that without Him I am nothing.  I also remember a time when I did a silk press on someone and it looked a hot mess so the fact that I now know exactly what I am doing is nothing but God!  This client came in for the first time to get a silk press and a trim. This is her before picture.

Before getting wet

I started by using Silk Hydration by L. Jones Clarifying Shampoo on her and followed with Silk Hydration by L. Jones Moisturizing Shampoo.  After that I put some Silk Hydration by L. Jones Daily Conditioner on it.  After rinsing I sprayed the entire head with Silk Hydration by L. Jones Leave-In Conditioner on and combed through.

Next, I began blowdrying and the actual pressing with the flat iron.  As soon as the flat iron went on the first piece of hair I immediately felt the silkiness of it.

I also gave her a trim since she had not had one in about a year or so.  And here is the after:

To maintain this the only thing she has to do is wrap it every night.  She will not need to apply any oil since her hair will make its own during the week.
