Mother & Daughter Combo- Silk Press vs. Relaxed Hair

The two clients that are featured in this blog post are mother and daughter.  The daughter was a five-year old cutie pie who has never had her hair straightened nor has she ever had a trim.  She was so excited to get her hair done, and I must say that she was such a big girl!  She sat there better than a lot of adults that I have done! I started by shampooing her with Silk Hydration by L. Jones Clarifying Shampoo then moisturized with the Silk Hydration by L. Jones Intense Moisturizing Treatment, which I let sit about 30 minutes.  After that I applied Silk Hydration by L. Jones Leave-In Conditioner and began to blow dry.  The pic below is showing where I was in the middle of blow-drying.

I just couldn't believe how much hair a five-year old could have!  It seemed like as I began to blow dry, her hair multiplied.  She had a LOT of hair.
The picture above is another picture of when I was in the middle of blow drying.  If you look at the ends, you can see where they need to be trimmed.  Anytime you are natural, it is easier to see the split ends when you begin to blow dry it because when it is in its curly natural state the split ends are camouflaged more.  Check out the finished product below.

We trimmed her ends after and she could not wait to get her hands in her hair.  It looked just like she had relaxed hair.

I know daughter just took the spotlight of this post but mom got a fresh relaxer.  I took an after picture of them both because the were both looking spectacular.

  1. So cute! I love the mom's cut and the little girl is too cute! I think I'll get my daughter's hair pressed when she turns 5. She wouldn't know how to act!
