Silk Press On Little Diva

This little diva came in to get a silk press.  It was her first one and she was excited to see her hair straightened out.  Her mother was just as excited.  As you can see she has plenty of hair and it was very curly.  It is not a kinky kind of curly, but more of a deeper wave kind of curly.
I started by shampooing her hair with Silk Hydration by L. Jones Clarifying Shampoo to get all of the excess dirt, oil, and residue off of the hair.  I did this three times just to be sure that I started with squeaky clean hair.  Next, I used Silk Hydration by L. Jones Daily Conditioner and let is sit for about five minutes.  I chose not to use Silk Hydration by L. Jones Intense Moisturizing Treatment because her hair was not extremely dry, it only needed a little bit more moisture.  My daily conditioner moisturizes the hair but is still light enough for the hair to have lots of body.

After I rinsed the conditioner, I then sprayed the hair with Silk Hydration by L. Jones Leave-In Conditioner to help detangle the hair and to give an added layer of moisture as well as serve as a heat protectant to the hair.

Next, I began to detangle the hair and blow it out.  Check out how much hair she has after it has been all blown out! Wow!  Having thick hair is both a blessing and a curse.  I have it myself so I speak from experience.  It is a curse because it takes a lot of time to do it, it takes forever to dry, and if you don't know what you are doing it can get discouraging.  However, it is a blessing because it is so pretty once you do get done with it!  Also, when you get older and your hair starts thinning, it actually really looks like a normal head of hair!

Before it was 100% dry I put a little oil on it then dried to 100%.

Next, I began to press it out using the ceramic flat iron.  Once done, I trimmed her ends.

Lastly, I sprayed some Silk Hydration by L. Jones Miracle Potion no9 on it to control frizz and add a little shine.

To take care of it she (or her mom) would wrap it every night.  It will stay straight until she shampoos her hair again, the recommended time being no longer than two weeks.

She was very cute!  I told her to make sure she slings her hair often, it's one of the rules in L. Jones Salon!
