Silk Press on Coarse Hair

This client came in for a silk press.  She has natural, chemical free hair, no color, no relaxer, no nothing!  She also has very thick, coarse hair and was very nervous about how her hair was going to turn out.  Well, I prepped her hair by shampooing three times with Silk Hydration by L. Jones Clarifying Shampoo.  After that, I put Silk Hydration by L. Jones Intense Moisturizing Treatment on it to give it a lot of moisture.  I let it sit with a platic cap (no heat) for about 20 minutes before rinsing.
After rinsing, I also sprayed Silk Hydration by L. Jones Leave-In Conditioner in the hair to give another added layer of moisture as well as a heat protectant and combed through.  Next was the blow drying in sections before using the ceramic iron to press it out.

Before I actually pressed it, I did trim it to get the split ends off due to she hasn't had a trim in over one year.  I prefer to trim before I press because it takes more time to try to press split hair.  Also, since I would be cutting the split ends anyway, what is the point in pressing it then?  And I'm all about working smarter, not harder!

Her hair will last until she shampoos it again.  She will only need to wrap it every night, put on her satin scarf, and most importantly, sleep comfortably!
