How To Train Your Hair

So many people have told me that I have "good" hair because I can go six months between getting my relaxers.  They think my hair doesn't get extra kinky, or dare I say, nappy!  Well the truth is, I do have good hair because my hair is healthy, not because it does what I tell it to do.  It does what I tell it to do because for years and years I have trained it.  And doing it so much lead to
it becoming a habit so now I don't even think of it as training my hair.

So how exactly did I train my hair? Well, it's so simple that this is going to blow your mind.  Anyone can do this!  Are you ready for it?

The only thing I did to train my hair was wrap it EVERY SINGLE DAY.  This sounds way too simple but it is so effective.  I started training my hair many years ago back in my ponytail days.  Even then I would put my hair in a ponytail and then put a bandana on to keep my edges laying down while I finished getting ready.  As I got older I still wrapped my hair every day, no matter what.

Even now, if I'm off for the day and don't plan on going anywhere, my hair stays wrapped up for the entire 24 hours.  While working out I wrap my hair. While just lounging around I wrap my hair.  Years of doing his has trained my roots and edges to lay down and not become as crunchy as it would if I didn't wrap it.  Once I began to stretch my relaxers, wrapping it often became very beneficial to me.  It's what helped me be able to go as long as I have.  To be honest, I could really go longer than six months without a relaxer but I choose not too. At that point it becomes too much work so I'll just stick to it.

So, if you want to train your hair start wrapping it quite frequently.  And I forgot to mention that I use three scarves to wrap my hair.  I do this because only using one will end up on the other side of the bed or on the floor.  Using three makes it more secure.  Check out my "how to" video on wrapping here:
