Full Sew In With Minimal Hair Left Out (Sew-In w/Versatility)

This client came in after having a horrible experience with another stylist.  It was a sew-in gone horribly wrong to say the least.  She wanted me to do one for her the correct way and with the right hair!

I started by shampooing and conditioning her real hair.  After she was dry I began her sew in.  You know how it goes, I braided her hair down then sewed the hair on.  Easy right?  Well, before putting the hair in, I colored it first to match her own hair color.  Since all of the hair I order (from the L. Jones Hair Collection) is virgin, unprocessed hair, it only comes in dark natural colors.  So in order to get it to a lighter color it always has to be colored.  I did the coloring the night before.

It took me about 3.5 hours from start to finish.  That included shampooing her real hair as well.  I like to take my time with sew ins so that they can last the full 3 months with no problems.

To take care of this she will simply wrap it every night and put on her satin scarf.

Sometimes it is hard to wrap sew-ins when they are this long so in that case she could also just comb it back as if she were going to tuck it behind her ears, put her scarf on to lay her real hair down, then put a satin cap on top of that.

I left just a little bit of her hair out around the hairline so that she has the option of pulling it up if she wants to.  Take a look at the pics where I pulled it up. These were taken right before I flat ironed it.

Her first two sew-ins were a bust so you know what they say, third time is a charm!

I tried to take a pic of all angles to show that you cant see any of the tracks.

High bun, high ponytail, low ponytail, side bun, or whatever, she can do so much with her hair.  I only wish I could sew-in my own hair! But for now I will just stick to my wigs.. The hair used for this sew in was Brazilian 14 and 16 inch silky straight.
