My Newest Addition To My Wig Family

One of the reasons I haven't been blogging as often this week is because of this wig!  It really kicked my butt to make it and took a lot longer than usual.  However, I have learned that to get something the way I like it that I have to take my time to do it right.  It is a bob that gradually gets longer only on one side.

My inspiration for this wig came from another picture that a good friend of mine sent me.  I liked the look and you really can't go wrong with a bob so I went for it.  The hair came from a collection of some of the first wigs that I made that I didn't wear anymore.  I simply took all of the hair off of two wigs and combined them into one.

I couldn't decide if I wanted it to be a removable sew in or a full wig so I just went for the full wig simply for the convenience.  I knew that if I did a full wig that I wouldn't have to worry about braiding my hair up and sewing it on.  Instead my hair is wrapped underneath and I had on a wig cap.  That was so much easier! And when I get home, I simply take the wig and wig cap off and put my satin scarf combo back on.

After putting all of the hair on and cutting it, it was so late that I got lazy when it came to curling it. The hair is so thick because I wanted it to look really full and I didn't have the patience to bump each piece in sections like I needed to.  But you can get the picture of the look I was going for.  I may experiment with it later on in the week by curling it a little tighter but again, the hair is really thick so we'll see.

I have no idea what kind of hair it is because I took the hair from previous wigs that went unused.  I'm sure it is a combo of different brands, but all I know is that it was all black so it worked for me!  I'm pretty happy with it though although I feel like I have to keep pulling it out of my face when I look down.  So when I'm at the shampoo bowl I find myself clipping it back.  One of my coworkers thought it was my real hair!  She said she hasn't seen my real hair in so long that she thought it grew out. Ha!  Well I guess that means I did my job because your wig is supposed to look as natural as possible.

What do you think?
