Healthy, Long, & Relaxed Hair

This is one of my clients who has beautiful, healthy, long hair.  And guess what? It's also relaxed!  This is another person who has proven that you can definitely have healthy long hair while having a relaxer.  Her hair would probably be even longer than it is now if she gave it just a little bit more tlc.  This is a client who really doesn't like combing her hair, especially when she sees new growth.  So, if her hair can be this long and healthy with little effort, anybody's can.

Take another look at her length:

Her length is almost bra strap length (bsl), but in the front her hair does touch her boob on the right side.  Like many of us, her hair is longer on the right side than on the left.  This is something very common and is nothing to worry about.  A lot of times the left side will eventually catch up but a most of the time it doesn't.  If your hair does this and it bothers you, you can cut all of your hair even to allow it to grow at the same rate, but more than likely your right side will always grow a little faster if that is what it was doing in the past.

Here is a look from the left side:
One very important thing this client does is stretch her relaxers out to avoid over-processing and damage.  I have her last scheduled relaxer on Nov. 21,2012 and she just got another one on yesterday which was 3/2/2013. That is a little over three months which is great.  So don't let anyone tell you that relaxers are harmful to your hair or will cause it to not grow.  That is not the case! As you can see here, that is just simply not true.

  1. Thanks so much for this post. Relaxers have gotten a bad rap lately because people simply don't know how to care for their relaxed hair. I'm so glad I found your blog, but I wish you were closer so you could do my hair :-)
