DevaCurl Kit Review

No too long ago I began using DevaCurl products on my son's hair.  His hair is naturally curly and I loved how it looked right after it was shampooed and still wet.  However, it seemed like after it dried, his hair looked extremely dry like it was just craving moisture.  I must say, since using these DevaCurl products, I no longer have that problem.  I bought this kit that included the shampoo, conditioner, gel, and curl spray.  Here is my review on each item.

DevaCurl No-Poo (shampoo)- I wasn't too crazy about this item.  The shampoo doesn't lather at all which makes me feel like I am co-washing, which I don't want to do.  I don't use this at all anymore.  They also have a low-poo shampoo which produces a little lather.  I may try this in the future, but for now I'll stick to the J&J.

DevaCurl One Condition (conditioner)- I love this conditioner very much.  I actually use it as a leave in instead of rinsing it out.  I just apply a dime sized amount and rub it all in to my son's hair.  His hair always looks moisturized now and I'm sure that it is due to this conditioner.  It also makes my son's hair feel very soft. In short, love Love LOVE this stuff!

DevaCurl Ultra Defining Gel- This is another product of DC that I love.  This gel has a soft hold but gives his curls so much definition and lets him keep that "just shampooed" look.  I'm pretty heavy handed with this stuff and my little one's hair stays soft! If they made this in a gallon, I'd probably buy it :)

DevaCurl Set It Free (moisture spray)- I use this spray after I have used the defining gel.  It keeps the hair from looking dry and eliminates the frizz.  I call this the activator juice and Mr. Jones hates that term but when I tell my son to go get his activator juice, he knows exactly what I'm talking about.  Ha! Anyway, just to be clear, this is NOT jheri curl activator juice it is just the term I gave it.

I love everything in this kit with the exception of the shampoo.  Everything else gets a 10 out of 10.  And of course all of these products are sulfate and paraben free and are very safe to use on kids' hair.
