My Hair Routine

As a stylist, I must admit, I do not enjoy doing my own hair one bit! But I refuse to be one of those stylists who do great work but you would never think they were a stylist just by looking at their head.  And just as I consider all of my clients to be my walking advertisements, I am also my own walking advertisement.  With that being said I wanted to share my very own personal hair routine.  It's very simple and basic, nothing over the top, nothing to write down. I shampoo my hair twice, the first time with a purifying deep cleansing shampoo by Avachi.  The second shampoo is done with a moisturizing shampoo called Healthy Sexy Hair. Next I followed with my conditioner, using a moisturizing conditioner by Artec Kiwi. Before I go any further, let me say this
... I follow this formula weekly, purifying shampoo, moisturizing shampoo, moisturizing conditioner.  I don't necessarily use the exact same products each time.  I am constantly looking for the best products and I like to try the new things on my own hair first instead of using my client's head as my guinea pig.  Also, everyone's hair is not the same so the products I use may be different for different people.  I enjoy testing out products to see what characteristics I may like in them and compare that to whose hair it will work best in.  I do, always use the purifying shampoo by Avachi because it works great and they give me a lot for my money! The moisturizing shampoo and conditioner may change from time to time, but I am extremely happy with the results I get from Healthy Sexy Hair, and Artec Kiwi.  The conditioner is great for me because I don't have to let it sit long on my hair.  I simply apply it to my hair, comb through, rinse out.  It's rare that I have time to sit under a hooded dryer for 30 min while waiting on the conditioner to work so I need a conditioner that will give me the same results in a shorter time frame.  That's what makes the Artec Kiwi perfect for me. Here is a before pic, I shampooed and conditioned my hair, applied some Nairobi Foam Wrap to my edges and the top of my hair to lay it down smooth and flat.  Next, I put a satin scarf around my edges and let the rest air dry. This was only done because I was to tired to sit under the dryer, I just wanted to go to bed! The next day I just blew it out. This pic is the before I flat ironed it.

I know it looks thick, frizzy and dry, but don't let it fool  you.  Here is my after pic.  I did not add any oil, sheen, grease, etc to make my hair look shiny. I simply flat ironed it and that's it!

What a difference a little heat makes! I did not add any oil...
